My first week of Miss Indiana kicked-off with many TV, radio and media appearance speaking about my whirlwind experiences. I stayed in Indianapolis for an extra few days to appear on Wish-TV and Fox 59, as well as had a fun phone interview with a former contestant (and my sister South Central queen). I also had my official headshots taken for the Miss America program book and autograph cards. I began to cry looking in the mirror after I realized MY face is going to be in the Miss America program book. No matter what happens in Las Vegas my face will always be in that book. Thanks to Blythe and Co for making me look fabulous for my pics!
While I was in Indianapolis the wonderful Michael took me too Cache to meet this amazing sponsor. I cannot wait for these shopping trips with Michael to pick out outfits to give me some ‘style.’
On Monday night I was finally back in Goshen with my dogs in my own bed, but the sleep didn’t last long. I spent the week making appearances on almost all of the morning TV and radio shows in the Elkhart County/Michianna area. Thanks to WSBT, WNDU, Froggy 102.7 and Sunny 101.5 for welcoming me into your studios.
On Friday night I made my first ‘public’ appearance in Goshen at the First Friday event where thousands lined the streets to see the old fashion cruise-in, listen to some local bands and eat some amazing food. It was great to see so many people from Goshen who greeted me with endless congratulations and hugs. It was so much fun to begin my journey in the place where it all began…. Goshen, IN.
