I had never been to Fort Wayne's Three River’s Festival so it was my pleasure to ride in the parade and attend events benefiting Riley Children’s Hospital. The float in the parade featured many local titleholders along with children and families whose lives have been touched by Riley Hospital. The children were an absolute joy to interact with and I made MANY new friends.
The Festival also featured a ‘Clean’ Comedy Event for Kids, which also raised money to benefit Riley. All of the visiting titleholders and myself had a wonderful time dancing, laughing and interacting with the children. On my way out of the park I even tried the featured Red Velvet Funnel Cake, which was out of this world!
The next day I was invited to attend the Northern Indiana Ride for Kids event, which raises funds for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. The stories of hope shared by the families affected by this terrible disease were absolutely inspiring. The young children I met will forever be an inspiration to my life. It was even more special that I got to share the morning with Rachael Bazzell, Miss Hoosier Heartland, and Leanna Ross, Miss South Bend.
